Flladi Kulla is a commissioned portrait artist and experienced art instructor. He has participated in group shows (including shows in the National Arts Club-NYC, Greenwich Arts Council, Washington Arts Association and many more) as well as solo exhibitions.

Flladi began his study of art at an early age, first through private lessons, continued through an intensive 4-year art program in his high-school (Fier, Albania) and then later in the Institute of Fine Arts in Tirana (Alb). After coming to the United States, he pursued his degree in Fine Art at Marymount College in Manhattan, and later transferred to Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, where he graduated with his B.A in 2000.

Like every artist, Flladi is attracted to everything visually, but his most favorite—and challenging—subjects are portraits. “In essence, I love portraiture because of the joy of seeing how a portrait takes life in front of your eyes. Portraits are also a way to communicate with the person and get to know them in my own way. I always liked to draw anything, but my love for portraiture started many years ago when an artist friend of my family made a quick sketch of my 5-year-old brother’s face: I watched every step of it and was fascinated with how this face was emerging out of a white piece of paper. That demo changed my life."
